“GOAT GABBING” with Gary & Renee
One of the highlights of a visit to Grandma’s Gardens is a walk to the pen to visit our funny and friendly group of talkative goats. Fargo, Delphinium, Peony, Geranium, Hyacinth and Camellia love the attention, the petting and the snacks from our 25-cent feed machine. These sweeties take away stress and give back smiles. Meet their owners on July 13th for a fun Q & A!
The owners of our 3-season residents are wonderful people. As part of Grandma’s Customer Appreciation Weekend, we have invited those friendly farmers, Gary and Renee Everling, to step into the pen and share facts about life on their goat farm. They will explain why goats do the funny things they do, tell about the goats’ social habits, and why they chose these lucky 6 to spend their summer at Grandma’s. They will be happy to answer all your goat questions and are SO looking forward to spending time with a half dozen of their closest friends and all our visitors. No reservations necessary, just come back to the pen to chat.
We’ve come a long way in 40 years! Here’s the original artist rendering of the 1890 Victorian farmhouse purchased by the Rhinehart family in July, 1979. The house now serves with pride as Grandma’s vintage Gift Shop and welcomes our guests as you drive into our parklike setting of 14 wooded acres. We’re celebrating our 40th with fun events, giveaways, food and gift card drawings throughout the year. Stay tuned here and on Facebook. THANK YOU to the generations of local gardening families who have helped us grow through the years.
5 stars! Grandma’s always has a great selection of high quality plants, flowers, trees and shrubs. They offer family-friendly activities and you can feed the goats. The staff are so pleasant and helpful.
